Having got to the museum at a busy time the queues were very long. We were very interested in viewing the famous Mona Lisa and due to there being other buildings surrounding the Louvre, before waiting in the long queue we wanted to double check the Mona Lisa was definitely in there. We approached a young female member of staff to which she was kicking a post around. Her attitude and arrogance was disgusting. We asked her if the Mona Lisa was in the Louvre to which she replied in a rude and nasty tone “duh it’s on the first floor it’s signposted all around?”. We were unsure if we needed tickets to enter so we didn’t have any, the girl laughed in our faces acting as if we were below everyone and as if we were utterly stupid for not purchasing tickets before arriving although they were all sold out anyway. She commented whilst laughing again, “if you don’t have tickets you can not enter it’s as simple as that”. Me and my partner were so shocked by the way we were spoken to by a member of staff who should be working at a certain level with certain attitudes, that we couldn’t even correct her for the way she spoke to us. Staff at the Louvre should be willing to help and treat everyone equally, that is their job. We have been completely put off from visiting again, no one should be treated with that amount of disrespect and arrogance for asking a simple question. Utterly appalled. Some people don’t deserve their jobs.

The museum is constantly packed to the brim, it is difficult to see anything up close due to the crowds
