You could spend 6 hours here and it wouldn't be enough. I had a Paris museum pass (without transportation, and a good bargain for days of museums). No reservation was needed at Louvre with the pass in November, but one still had to wait on the security line. I got the free map and bought the audio/screen guide (worth it), and followed the "highlights" tour, and let myself wander off the path anywhere I wanted. All I had had was AP Art History over 40 years ago, and still I walked around with my jaw dropped for about 6 hours. Of course, this was in November, so less crowded. If you do get the guide and follow a path, try to find the initial location on the map and just get there - the "follow the path" on the screen guide to find the starting location is totally worthless, but the audio info given on the guide is very nice. If you have the time, you can/should get there before opening, and go for the entire day. You can bring a snack in your pocket or buy lunch there. If you have a late afternoon or evening flight, and only have a carry-on sized bag with you, there are free lockers where you can store your bag while you tour the museum.
Thank you so much for your kind review!
My wife and I visited that place in dec2022. We were excited about visiting a lot of things related to past generations. Moreover, it is very interesting for Iranian people because it has a special section for our past generation.

Everyone should visit this museum once but be prepared for massive crowds and long queues. You queue to get in - even if you have timed entry; you queue again to see the Mona Lisa. There is so much to see that it’s not possible to see everything, so work out what you want to see before you get there.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us!
