You could spend an entire week here and still not see everything! This Paris historical location is amazing. Standing within a few feet of the original Da Vinci painting of Mona Lisa was a bucket list item checked off. Looking out the window of this palace turned museum, you can't help but be transformed to what it must have looked like to Napoleon or his wife Eugenie looking out into the courtyard of the citizens trying to be seen as part of the Paris "in crowd". The rooms and galleries of original paintings is a walking (and talking-get the audio app as you tour the grounds) history lesson. The architecture inside and out is breathtaking. Other than our visit to the Eiffel Tower, this was THE highlight of our trip. Can't wait to return so we can get to the Palace of Versailles too on our next trip back to Paris.
A “must” visit place if you are in Paris. The museum was very busy and it’s a highly popular tourist attraction with many people coming mainly to view the Leonardo de Vinci Mona Lisa which is located on Floor 1.
If you pass on the fact that a few artifacts in the Louvre have been stolen during the past centuries, the place is nothing short of amazing. The venue itself is special, in the heart of paris and in the on the premises of the old royal palace. The expositions are enormous, diverse and rich. It would take you weeks to see the whole museum properly. The down side is that the Louvre is always, continuosly busy. There is no break. Buy your tickets online to benefit from faster entry.
