Must visit when you are in Paris. If you enter via the gate (and not the glass pyramid), wait time is zero. We made the 2 mistakes - 1) we took afternoon tickets and 2) we did not plan the visit. We were tired by afternoon and the museum is really big to get you thoroughly confused on what all to see. We finally visited only 1 of the 3 wings, saw monalisa and few other famous sculptures and came out.
Nice to see all our histories in one place. Very busy with lots of tours and school groups. Mona Lisa…..extremely busy area (managed a photo) There are lanes to move through but clogged up with people not wanting to get a photo and go, never got to the front as gave up. Toilets……..terrible. With the amount of money made by the Louvre you’d think they would care about their patrons but doesn’t feel that way with dirty toilets, no toilet paper, no hand towels……not good enough!
It was all about the Mona Lisa. I visited the week after an erring member of the public had smeared the mona lisa with cake, drawing even more crowds to Room 701 and denying me of a more intimate and closer view on my first visit to the museum, but there was still a lot more to see and the Napooleon Apartments! wow!!
