So we live in NYC so we know our museums, and this was quite amazing for someone jaded like us. My biggest tip is know your plan of what you want to see cause you can literally spend a whole day and see 15% of this place :)
Amazing on so many levels. Huge collection of widely varying art. We took a 3 1/2 hour tour and were blubbering the last half hour. To put it super mildly this is too much to absorb in one visit. My thought would be move to Paris and go twice a week for a year and then take a deep breath and realize you're still just starting... OR take a 2 hour tour and appreciate all the good art flowing over you
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Louvre; I had always wanted to go so I made half-a-day of it. I booked online for 9am on a Monday and it was the best decision as I got straight in when it opened. It wasn’t as busy so there was plenty of space, and few people in the way. I wasn’t going to bother queueing to see Mona Lisa, but as it wasn’t so bad I did and got to see her upfront. I queued for less than 5 minutes. The museum is huge and I spent about 3 1/2 hours there, there was plenty to see, and I enjoyed every minute of it. As it got to about 12pm I noticed that the museum was a lot fuller and there were loads of school trips etc so I was glad I had came in early! I highly recommend a visit!
