If you want to spend a day in a museum, this is the perfect one. You must take an audioguide and listen to the story behind every piece of art. It's a very nice experience.

1. there are 5 floors with many sections, thus before visiting it is strongly recommended that you have a thorough study on the place to avoid time to understand the layout.
2. you need to submit an identity proof to get the audio guide, but once to return the audioguide you get your id back.
3. the audio guide is more or less uninteresting and only some of the pieces have informative commentary. most pieces don't even have a commentary on the audio guide.
4. wear as comfortable shoes as possible
5. carry food and water but keep them well packed inside your handbags because food in separate plastics or wraps is not allowed inside the museum
6. reach as early as possible to cover as much as possible
7. do not carry heavy luggage as it becomes difficult to walk for so many hours carrying heavy bags
8. cloakroom available
9. many shopping stores available within the premises
10. cafes are restaurants present too

My husband and I spent the whole day at the museum and would say it was worth every minute. My suggestion would be to spent an hour or 2 to give it a quick glance and then go around a second time to visit things that interests you personally . There is no need to get the skip the line tours , they are expensive and not that detailed either . Go early around 8 am and get the day pass for 15 € , you won't need to wait for more than Half an hour. use the time to browse about exhibits to see or may be listen to music. Even for skip the line tours there will security check queues. Do get the audio guide it's 5 € and totally worth it .
