Lovely museum. So many things to see! Architecture is amazing! Recommend the self-guided audio tour. Be careful of pickpocketers on and around the premises. They are unsuspecting and all over the place, so be extremely vigilant!
It was really great experience. Museum organisation very good, I recommend to buy ticket directly at the museum. At least one day to visit famous sections. They accept backbag or bag, checkroom available at the entrance if you dont want to carry. Museum map which provided by ticketing desk is more usefull than audio guide. They were allowing to enter with water bottle. The way to out was entering to shopping mall. Toilets are available between sections but were very busy.
The Louvre museum is spectacular. We did not a lot enough time to properly enjoy the many exhibits so that is my first piece of advice. We rented the audio guide. While the guide gave very interesting facts about the pieces and told fascinating stories, it was extremely difficult to use. I spent more time trying to get the stupid thing to work. Finally found a teenager who could show me how to work it! It’s a Nintendo ds so just be forewarned and try to get a tutorial on how to use it. I also recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time. Even if just a few hours before. That will allow you a speedy entry and there is a dedicated entry for etickets. A must! Remember the place is huge. I would recommend a guided tour, and I will try to do that next time because it is not easy to navigate and I got legitimately lost at one point. Of course phone service is not so great in there either so use WiFi.
