Huge museum with impressive arts. It’s important to reserve the audio guide, it wasn’t available when I visited (all rented out). But you can book it through travel agencies and pick up from the agency. Audio guide is necessary, because a large amount of guides in the museum are only in French, so audio guide will make things much easier. Simply impressive, prepare good walking shoes, you might need more than a day to see everything!
Louvre is everything you dreamed of and more - grandeur, imposing a damn huge! A word of advice though - make some ahead-planning and invest into audio-guide service, if you do not want to invest a day (I mean it) into staying in line - and by saying "line", I'm talking about a kilometer and a half of winding, very confusing queues of very confused people and no direction of which queue is which - come rain or shine. Brrrr... Booking a ticket on-line beforehand definitely shortens your line to those prudent enough who bothered to do so. Getting a tour costs more, but they have their own way of jumping the line. Worked fine for us, after the first-day futile experience of getting in the museum. Once inside though - well, hell with the line, it's worth it )))))
No! Monlisa is not THE most admirable art here! Please have a good sleep before you enter the museum as it gets too tiring here. Word of caution...all explanations of the art is in French below the painting. Please take an audio guide if you dont know French
