We went there for the special exhibition about life and works of Leonardo da Vinci. Great! Very special. Paintings, drawings, notebooks. A lot to see about this very special homo universalis. Also beautiful paintings from his students. Afterwards the Louvre itself. Just too big. Gigantic. Mona Lisa bit of a bummer with herds of people and selfiesticks. Great to see famous paintings in real life such as Liberte, Medusa, Death of Marat and Coronation of Napoleon. And a nice collection of Dutch and Flemish painters. Anyway. Don t rush. Better to see a part and focus thereon and come back another day or time to see other parts of this incredible museum.
Nice but crowded. Not all of the works are by Da Vinci. Dark. Probably not worth the trip, but Paris and the rest of the Louvre more than make up for it.
Beautiful experience seeing many works from so many great artists of all time. Very crowded though, be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time and purchase the one of many guided tours offered
