Our visit to the Louvre was brilliant, we enjoyed looking at the exhibits it has to offer. Everyone heads for the Mona Lisa and despite getting there when it opened (9am), there was still one heck of a crowd around the Mona Lisa - to be honest I found it quite underwhelming. There are so many lovely artworks within the same gallery - Wedding at Cana or the majestic Winged Victory of Samothrace. Definitely do not miss the little shops beneath the museum - Carrousel Du Louvre. You can find some nice shops and cute little cafes. All in all, an enjoyable trip & while you're in Paris, you may as well visit!
Thank you so much for your kind review!
We pre-booked our tickets, for a family with two children (in a stroller). To our pleasant surprise, as we were waiting in the line, a member of staff took us out and guided us through a separate entrance. We then used the open elevator that the museum has in place for strollers and wheelchairs. The museum itself is a joy to visit. A bit challenging with the stroller but there are elevators everywhere to bypass the stairs. Lots of shops throughout the museum area, but would recommend to take at least water or a snack with you. Tips: -Buy tickets in advance -Get a map for the kids. It will keep them interested. -There is a cloakroom to leave your jackets -It takes hours to see it, so empty your day. Its worth it! -Take outdoor photos of the Louvre pyramid at the beginning, because by the time you finish it will be very crowded. -Carry water/snack with you
Thank you so much for taking a time out to write a review for us.
The structure and its contents are beautiful. Tickets are affordable. We went in autumn so it was not so busy. It's an experience so rich, literally and figuratively. Works of art that are hundreds and even thousands years old. I'm not much of an art aficionado but I truly appreciated my visit to the Louvre. We only had time for the Spanish and Italian exhibits, so I will come back to see the other sections for sure.
