Go early before school groups and crowds. Pre buy your tickets. Have a plan what you want to see..hire a tour guide or we got the audio machines and didn't follow the full tour this way but when you stand in front of certain pieces you can put the number iinto the screen and listen to the facts on that art work..very good and easy to do

The enormity of this museum cannot be overstated! Highly recommend getting the audio guide to get the most out of your visit. Go in with a clear plan of which pieces you would like to see and then spend the rest of your time wandering. Also, recommend the Paris Museum pass to be able to return if there is something you missed

We've been to the museum twice now. It's great! So many things to see so little time. The kids are free, It's a little daunting to go to the very middle to get the audio guide though, they don't have them at the entrances, by the time we've got to one we were halfway through our visit.
