If you are coming to The Louvre make sure you have enough time to spend around it.The amount of history and art inside are incredible.Sculptures and paintings dating many years agoand some of the decorations in some rooms is simply brilliant.Take an audio guide which will help you through the whole museum. One piece of advice go very early and go straight to the Mona Lisa if you want to take a good picture of the painting since as the days go by the crowds around the painting are unbelievable.
We had a busy day of activities planned, including visiting the louvre, however, it is far too vast to get through in a short amount of time. Under 26 go free (which we were unaware of) and the queues are fine in low season. Buy the audioguide and research the website before going to ensure you have an interest in exhibitions other than the Mona Lisa, as this painting is overrated. The exterior and area surrounding the museum are enough to impress so don't be in a hurry to go inside.
This museum is HUGE! Well organized interactive audioguide helps immensely with navigating the immense compound. Some parts are under construction so not the easiest to get from one side to the other. Plan for a whole day here at the very least. Get tickets online to shorten the wait. Consider using the Carousel du Louvre entrance downstairs during high tourist seasons to cut down on waiting time.
