We visited Louvre 3 days in a row, took advantage of the Musume pass, and long open hours on Wed. & Fri. - really impressed by the quality and quantity of the collections. We purchased the audio guide in advance and downloaded on our phone, very convenient and allowed us using the guide before the trip when we were doing our homework, also saved audio rental since we visited 7 times during our stay in Paris Will definatly go back again one day
The louvre is massive. I had no idea. You need a plan of attack or you will be overwhelmed and see very little. Book a tour or purchase the audio guide. Well worth it just to see the highlights around. Buy advance tickets to skip lines. It was warm inside so dress appropriately. Be prepared to wait to see the major pieces (Mona Lisa, etc.). It is controlled but takes patience
This was an incredible experience. We paid extra for audio guides which was hard to use at first but it was great as an overview for each exhibit we saw. We only scratched the surface as went for just over two hours. The queues looked long but they went really quickly. Tip: if you need the toilet, go in one of the exhibit bathrooms as the queue in the main atrium was enormous.
